Tagged

Okey-dokey. Tagged. Right. WHAT DOES ONE SAY!! Not that I cannot think of anything, it's that there is too much to decide between! And I don't know seven people who blog. Oh well, here's mine:

*I LOVE COFFEE ICECREAM. I mean, one doesn't expect me to like coffee icecream; seeing as I'm ten, but I do.

*I AM VERY CREATIVE. Or at least people tell me that. I think I'm creative. Anyway I may start blogging my art projects, becase I don't want to blog about books I've read.

*I OWN NO PATIENCE. I can't sit still, I can't live through long grownup converstations, and most of all, I can't knit a heck of a stitch. Well okay I can but I never get very far.

*I WAS ALMOST A LAMP FOR HALLOWEEN. Naturally, I changed my mind.

*I PREFER ROUND SHOE LACES. No, really. My sister has a distinct issue with round shoe laces because they come untied. I like them for the same reason, because I can't untie flat ones.

*I GOT MY HAIR CUT SHORT. I had a fantasy about it getting as long as my waist like a friend of mine, but I gave up cuz' I could never brush it and it was really hot. It's as short as my neck, now.

*I DON'T LIKE TO WEAR RINGS. They hurt and itch and I can never keep them on very long.

Now, the people I will tag.
Straw - her blogger name is Firefly.
Sophie - her blogger name is, well, Sophie. What a coincidence!
Lightbulb - her blogger name is Lirael.
End,

A funny Story

Hah! I have a very funny thing to tell you that happened last Wednesday.

Beware!

Haha, gotcha didn't I? No, that isn't what happened. What happened was that I was playing this imaginary game with my friends, and then people started to join until it seemed like half of my grade was playing, and I wasn't having much fun anymore. So that Wednesday, it was Popcorn Day, and I was playing with my friends and our newly discovered Dragon Bites, (popcorn) which tamed the dragons, and I realized the mob had moved to the soccer field. Now, I was bored, so it wasn't like I was about to go and join. So I climbed up on a metal bar toy I used to call The Castle, on the very top bar, and sat down. I put myself in that position that's kind of says, ' So cooler than you ' , and sat there, relaxed, smirking, holding onto the tower with only my feet and eating popcorn. Smirking. Smirking at them. Smirking at how darn silly they looked. I thought to myself, " They look so funny, flapping their arms around and making complete fools of themselves." Wait, now, don't get me wrong, I'm usually not the type to snicker at my friends, but it was so funny, me up there on the top of the world, coolest of the cool. And them. Down there. Being ridiculous. And I realized, "Good Heavens, I was down there doing that a minute ago!"

Ridiculous.

Wow. Am I really that nerdy?

Oopsie Daisie

Well, yesterday I was just sitting in my room, off in space, and I realized something. Why do I even understand what I'm thinking about? Why am I not a primitive slug? Why do we know that certain pronunciations in our language are "right" and some are "wrong"? Why do we even know that anything is right or wrong? Why can we understand each other? WHY DO WE EVEN HAVE A LANGUAGE? Ack. Don't think about that kind of unanswerable question for too long, or you will feel all mushy. Really.

Chocolate and chips

Mmmmm.... Chocolate and chips. Life wouldn't be right, somehow, without chips and chocolate. Myself and my friends are always begging each other for a chip or a cookie or a Cheeto or,well, you get it.My friend Firefox and I are absolutely MAD for chocolate and chips and cheese. Although we agree salty stuff like pretzels are delicious too. Ah, it's a shame that they aren't healthy....oh well. Now, what I don't like are squash and asparagus and ucky vegetables like that. I like most veggies, but don't even try to feed me the most dreaded vegetable of all....MUSTARD GREENS. I HATE MUSTARD GREENS. NEVER FEED ME THEM, STRAW. Speaking of Straw, she and Mr.WiggleToes always make me and THE LIGHTBULB unload and reload the dishes every night. Every night. Always. Gets a bit ANNOYING if you know what I mean. Oh well! I will just have to deal with it. Will post more later,

Saturday

Guess what! Superior Saturday just came out! Arthur is trying to defeat the next Trustee, like usual, but he's gone a bit crazy. I seriously think having all those Keys is affecting his noodle or something. Saturday is trying to invade Sunday's Incomparable Gardens, but the Drasil trees, which never stop growing, are making that almost impossible. Notice I said almost. Saturday manages to invade Sunday's territory, but Arthur, right on cue, gets the Key from Saturday. It's a very thrilling tale. However, read the other five before you read this one or you won't understand half of it.

Bored

Have you ever been terribly bored? I certainly have. Today I just don't feel like writing about the Septimus Heap series anymore, so I'll write about something random.

I like random.

Ooo. Say, have you ever had a really good idea and then someone asks you a question, and then you forget it? I find that more than annoying. You just KNOW it was a good idea, and it's so aggravating to think about it. Sigh.... that sort of thing happens to me much too often.

Please post about times like that on my blog today, if you will.
Anyway, speaking of aggravating, have you ever got really annoyed with someone and then said something you really regretted? It happens.
That's very aggravating.

Someone should write a book about funny incidents like that that happened to themselves and friends. Maybe I'll do that.

That'd be cool.

Meanwhile, Jenna, in the depths of a Wurm burrow, devises a plan.

Septimus heap series

I'm going to write about the Septimus Heap series. Today I'll write about the first book, Magyk. Then tommorow, the next, and so on.
The setting is a town with lots of wizards. Lots of wizards, and castles and palaces and stuff!
many people practice magic there. They also have a Queen, and lots and lots of ghosts, most of which are nice, but not all of them.I really enjoyed this book, and you certainly would too, if you like reading about magic and danger and mystery. Please read this book! It's a great pastime, reading books. Sorry about the shorter post today. I'll write more soon!!

2 perspectives from one brain

I have read a book called All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarden. It looks at everything at a unusual point of view. Reading this book made me come up with something from the same sort of view. It is sort of like I have different brains seeing things from different perspectives. I want to share what I wrote with you.

Have you ever heard of the phrase "a picture's worth a thousand words"? I've heard it and it put me in two different minds. For instance, it is true, that saying, because a picture can indeed be a substitute for words if you think about it. For instance people associate red with 'anger' and 'rose' and blue with 'sad' and 'sea' and so on. Pictures can make you think a lot of things.

That's my first perspective. Now for the other one.
When I read a book, I've got my own ideas of how the characters and the sets look and everything.
Then I watch the movie for it and all my opinions are blown away.
For instance, I read the first Harry Potter book and had all my own little ideas, most of which I can recall if I think hard enough. Then I watched the movie. The pictures sort of take all the words and replace them with their own ideas. Usually when someone says 'Harry Potter' I immediatly think of how his face looks in the movies, dang it!

'A picture's worth a thousand words'.

Sure.

Emily Windsnap

I've read this really cool book called The Tail of Emily Windsnap. It's about this girl who has never swam in a pool or anything even though she lives on a boat. But finally she bugs her mom enough to let her try swimming at her junior high school. During her lesson, she gets in the pool and feels right at home, but then a few seconds later, something happens to her legs! Her swim teacher said it was just a cramp, but Emily saw something and felt and felt something that her teacher didn't know about... Unable to resist the temptation, a few nights later she goes outside into the ocean and discovers she's a mermaid! Sort of. Her legs come back when she gets out. She meets another mermaid who invites her to her mermaid school for a day, and in the library with her friend's teacher she finds out that her father that supposedly left her when she was born was in the mermaid prison! And that he was arrested for marrying a human, something Neptune, the king, hates. She tries to swim there with her friend, but it's was much too far. So Emily steals their house-on-a-boat while her babysitter was asleep on the boat. Her mom and her mom's friend, the lighthouse keeper, catch them and after some whining on their part, became part of the crew. Emily's mermaid friend then pulls them to the Great Barrier Reef! Then Emily breaks into the Great Barrier Reef and meets her father there, but she has to leave without him because there's no escape from his room, but she learns he didn't leave them, after all! Then they are arrested by Neptune! Then Emily convices Neptune to let them go, as long as they allow themselves to be transported to an island far away. That's the end, but there is a sequel that I've never read, and it has something to do with her enemy Mandy turning into a mermaid. That's it for now, folks, so read The Tail of Emily Windsnap! I highly reccomend it!

Garth Nix

Have you read Garth Nix's series The Keys to the Kingdom? It's great! I've read all the ones that have come out and they're awesome! I wish I could read Superior Saturday but it comes out on July 7 so I can't read it until I can get it at the library or something. :( The Keys to the Kingdom is, in case you didn't know, a series about a boy named Arthur who's just a normal kid [Or so he thinks] except for the fact he's an asthmatic. He has an asthma attack, and during the attack he's given a Key. He thinks it's a hallucination BUT IT'S NOT. He's led on an adventure into The House where he meets Suzy Turquiose Blue and The Will. His job is to vanquish Mister Monday. But can he survive the task?....... If you haven't already read it, I suggest you do. It's really cool. But that's only a summary of the first book. There's more. The books in the series are Mister Monday, Grim Tuesday, Drowned Wednesday, Sir Thursday, Lady Friday, Superior Saturday, and Lord Sunday. [ Saturday and Sunday aren't out yet. :( ] Read them all!
